Tried that before. They are NOT removed. It asks as usual for confirmation after you click Remove. If it did not have it before it the gets the notation Driver not available.
I have not tried Safe Mode before; will do so but you will understand if I am not optimistic !

    Hi

    We'll get there eventually :)

If Safe mode doesn't work, did you try Option two: HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer Drivers and Downloads | HP® Customer Support

Safe Mode didn't work but tried yesterday downloading the HP Color Printer Driver from HP Support. It took three quarters of an hour but finally got it. Message invited me to unzip. Did that and promptly got an error message from 7Zip. "Cannot create folder for webpack"
I gave up. I should search the computer for this webpack but have not yet done so.

My HP wireless printers will occasionally quit working wirelessly...and what I would have to do is to reboot the "ROUTER". Now before you holler at me if you have already done this...I haven't read the complete post. For some unknown reason the printers will lose the wireless connection but find it and say hey I'm over here to the router...and then they would start printing everything I had been trying to print. Hope this helps or at least make you think outside of the box....

    Can't conect to remote printer

Appreciate your jumping in but I am afraid it isn't a wireless problem. It is Windows 10.
I used to have a normal router from Swisscom but two years ago I switched to our cable TV supplier UPCCablecom and the router is now part of the Horizon Box downstairs which also acts as a Router. It works pretty well. Occasionally In the morning when I switch on, the internet doesn't seem to be working, but if I call up Network on the computer, I get confirmation that is working. There is no physical way of rebooting the router.
But the proof that the wireless home network is working is that I can print on the HP computer from my wife's computer in the next room. She has Windows 8.1 and it seems that the 8.1 driver works fine.

    Can't connect to remote printer

    For UKMEDIA
I found the Webpack in Downloads.
The full title is "HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver - CP1520series_n_full_Solution.exe" 136,787KB.
Properties: Type: Application (exe) Description HP Webpack.
I looked for Webpack in Google and found pages about how to create one but nothing about how to open one. If you click on the file, you get a 7Zip error message "Cannot create folder". Why 7Zip I do not know. From its size it doesn't seem to be compressed. I tried to look for Webpack on the HP site but failed to find anything useful.
Do you know how to open this file ?

    Hi

Checked on the HP site and it suggests that you ensure that the USB cable for the printer is removed and that the firewall is turned off. Let me know if that works?

I also found these instructions but haven't tried them myself:

Posting on this old thread due to it being the first site on google. I work as a Sysadmin and just ran into this issue using a new computer. Never had the same issue with the same printer before, but i got a workaround.

You probably have 7-zip installed. Just navigate to your fake CD-drive which you get in your file explorer after connecting the printer via USB cable (D: or E: drive usually) and open that up.

Copy all the files from there on your computer and navigate to the folder called 'Installer' under it. Right-click on the Setup.exe and choose extract using 7-zip.

After that navigate to the folder you extracted that Setup.exe toand go to the subfolder 'Installer'.

Connect your printer via USB if you didn't already and run hpbcsiInstaller.exe as administrator (shift + right-click) and install it in the mode you are going to use it.

I installed it as a USB printer, but i only have the 401d version without network capabilities. It will give an error about communicating with the printer in the end, but it works just fine.

BTW,Uninstalling 7-zip didn't help. It would still state the same error message with 7-zip on the title. The installer is supposed to use the included Ionic Zip to extract, but for some reason it doesn't work...

    Can't connect to remote printer

Hi and thanks for your two messages.
Before I had seen the second, I tried your first suggestion . Right-clicking the file and selecting OPEN produces the same 7Zip error message but I then tried "Run as Administrator" and BINGO, it started extracting and finally produced HP Installer which after a delay, asked me to disconnect the UBS, which I did, and then said it would install the Driver and other software if I clicked OK.
It then started the first of three stages "Prepare to Install", which slowly progressed, little by little from 0% to over 90% but then stopped with an error message "Program has encountered an error, please reboot the computer and run the installer again. If the trouble persists consult the Support for your machine".
So I did and, after all that, tried again. Although it had not specifically asked, I disabled the AVG Firewall before trying again. Same procedure and slow progress to 95% of Prepare to Install - then the same error message. Have now read your second message and think I did in fact all that you suggest.
As you can imagine I am rather discouraged and a bit fed up having spent more than two hours today without any progress. I will look more closely at the suggestion appended to your second message and try it.
Thanks for all your patient help.
