Constant network activity data being sent at 8-16 Kbps, what is it?!

I don't know if this is normal behaviour. Normally from my observation it usually stays at 0 Kbps for both Send and Receive.

Yet for some reason I'm seeing this strange behaviour, I believe ever since launching Calculator app, but maybe this has nothing to do with this. I uninstalled it for the benefit of the doubt.

There are no Windows Store apps running in the background. Yet, I've suddenly started noticing the Ethernet in Task Manager sending every few seconds 8-16 Kbps of data.

Yet, if I actually go to the Processes tab this will show 0% network activity and 0 Mbps for all of the background processes.

Am I being paranoid or is this normal behaviour? If this is not, can someone explain what is behind this network activity of 8-16 Kbps worth of data being sent every few seconds???

See if you can identify the process related to the upload.
    This may help:
    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/process_tcp_summary.html
If you run ProcessTCPSummary as Administrator, you can also watch the number of TCP/UDP bytes sent and received by every process as well as the current send/receive speed.
    Check this is disabled:

Appears to be a heartbeat ping to check to make sure that the connection to the Internet is still alive and that the Gateway knows that the system is awake. You can use Wireshark to look at it deeper. Wireshark . Go Deep.

    These are the network details.

It literally starts and stops. For a period of time there's nothing happening. And then suddenly I am seeing small graph chart spikes of 8-16 KB data being sent.

I'm wondering whether this has anything to do with Microsoft Spying the Operating System following the latest update? I haven't got anything running in the background such as Skype, Steam, Origin or any other messaging or application that is using network.
Nothing suspicious running in the background either, but I'm unable to detect what data is being sent.
I've seen this happen before but usually for a short while and then it stopped, so I ignored it. But today I am definitely seeing it for a more extensive period of time and it is driving me a little crazy.

If this is simply a heartbeat ping then fair enough. But I want to be 100% certain what is going on. I'm seeing Device Association Service running, not sure if this has anything to do with it. I also disabled Windows Update using Windows Update Blocker.

Open the Command Prompt as a administrator and execute Netstat -b command to view the executable involved in creating each connection.

You can also use TCPView utility to view all network connections.

This shows you exactly which process vs number of bytes sent and received as I suggested above:

As it says- must run as admin.

Shutdown Chrome and those other items that use Network activity as shown in the Process Tab, all that I show is just a keep alive ping. No sent packets.

This is what I see in Command Prompt but it doesn't really give me any information what they are related to.

Maybe I need to install TCPSummary or TCPView to find out.
