    Windows udpate breaking RDP

I have had some customers call in and after loading a small update their remote desktop is no longer working. When trying to open it they get "Remote Desktop Active X control doesn't match the version of client shell" on mstscax.dll. I also noticed on all the ones that were affected by this they had a .bak copy of mstscax.dll and their mstsc.exe in their system folders. We found that by naming the current copy of those files to old and renaming the .bak ones so that they were used it fixed their remote desktop but then after rebooting they would get a virtual channel error but the rdp would still work. One thing we were able to compare was that two of the computer had just loaded this update July 9, 2019—KB4507435 (OS Build 17134.885) and that what seems to have caused this issue. I don't see anything in the release notes about RDP but on two of the machines that had the issue they had both just loaded this update. We also tried running the sfc /scannow and it did find some corrupt files and repaired them and we then rebooted and had them try it and they were still getting the error. Finally we just removed their webfeed (they use remoteapps) then renamed the .bak files so it used those and then readded the webfeed for remoteapps and that seemed to have fixed their rdp settings with no errors popping up. Anyone else run into any of these rdp errors the last few days.

You would be better to move users to Teamviewer since it is a better secured method vs using ActiveX controls that are going away. Microsoft has released a HTML5 RDC web client since ActiveX support is ending, https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...-for-download/

Can you explain this portion regarding 'removed their webfeed'? I'm getting reports from remotes apps/Win 10 users now also and that KB is the culprit.
