Cannot write to a shared parent folder

I have a sharing problem that appeared after I upgraded to Windows 10 version 1903. Prior to the upgrade, I had a shared folder to which I could write (drag and drop using Windows Explorer) from another computer. After the upgrade, if I drag and drop a file to the shared folder, I get a red universal stop sign and the write fails. No message or error code. If there is a subfolder under the share, I can write to it, but still not to the parent. I can write to the shared folder using the command prompt, but this is unacceptable. If I use a third party file manager that is PORTABLE (not installed), e.g., Explorer++, I can drag and drop files to the shared folder. If I use a third party app that is installed normally, the drag and drop operation fails. BTW, the shared folder is set up so that Everyone has full permissions and its' security includes Everyone with full permissions. I have unshared and reshared the folder many times, but nothing changed.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Change the attributes of the folder, before you modified it before its update.Another observation is that before he made a change of attributes and with the update the administrator permissions were restored. Windows maintains those options.

It may inherit permission from above and if it's a system folder may have special permission

The problem is not related to folder attributes (none are set), administrator permissions (shared with Everyone), nor inherited permissions (it's a foot folder).

Just came across this, same thing happened to me.

The problem share was six folders on a network computer, root folder is NOT shared.
Write to any subfolder no problem but NOT to six main shares.

Not entirely sure why but went to look at root folder permissions and everything seemed OK.
Just to see what happened I added "Everyone" to root and gave full access, I can now write to all folders again.

While this worked for me I cannot speak for other systems.
