    This worked for me just now!

    Finally got my drives to read across the network.

    advanced sharing
    security tab
    change authorized users to network
    (deleted homegroup setting but not sure if that had to be done)
    and now I can see my drives and computers that would not show up

    Thanks. Do you suspect that the SMB1 thing is the culprit? I never had to do that on Windows 10 1809. I just figured the setting would carry over during the upgrade. Have you ever heard of turning on public folder sharing and not being able to save it? I am the only user of these PC's and have full admin rights.
    I, too, have problems with "seeing" my Laptop in the Network.
    BUT I did read;

    For security reasons, Microsoft recommends that you disable SMB1 immediately. Ransomware targets the vulnerabilities of the SMB service of the Windows operating system to propagate. To defend yourself against WannaCrypt ransomware it is imperative that you disable SMB1 as well as install the patches released by Microsoft.

    So where does one go from here??
