Sharing between 2 PCs keeps coming and going

PC A recently updated to Win10 Pro v 1809. PC B is on Win10 Home 1803, both with all available updates.

PC A and B have been set up with sharing for years. Recently, and seemingly worse since PC A updated to v 1809, the sharing comes and goes. Sometimes both PCs can see each other and access each others folders and files and sometimes neither one can access the other. The PC shows in the Network window but double clicking the icon causes Windows to say it can't find the PC. During all these times the network is up and running fine. Since the sharing is working part of the time I figure that it is set up correctly. I have no clue as to why the sharing keeps coming and going.

Where should I look to unravel this mystery?

PC A was connected via Ethernet. I disconnected the Ethernet and turned on Wi-Fi (which runs at half the speed). The sharing between the two PCs seems to be more reliable now but still not totally reliable. I've also noticed that PC B can see PC A but not all the users. Guess I'll see about enabling sharing on those users but I don't see why they should have dropped out on their own.

Sharing just seems to be pretty well screwed up after the OS updates. Progress?? Maybe not!

My suggestion is to disable all sharing on both PCs, reboot them, and then setup the sharing again. That should nuke whatever glitch has crept into your setup.

thomaseg1, All the SMB 1.0 items are checked. SMB Direct is not and I don't know what that is.

I looked up SMB Direct - now I understand and I don't need it.
