Laptop appears as Media device

    Laptop appears as Media device


    We just bought a new Laptop. In networking it shows as a Media Device not a computer and I cannot connect to it.

    That does not give the exact model of the unit you have. If you are talking about its showing up as a DLNA device, it is now how Windows 10 works. If you want to access it over the network to transfer files, you will need to change the folder share settings on the laptop to allow sharing of the folder you wish to access. Then use the IP of the laptop in Explorer to access from the desktop.
