How do I enable the old networking tray icons on Windows 10 1903?

Windows 10 1903 (aka the May 2019 update) introduced a new networking tray icon, which gets shown when the PC is offline:

However, I don't like this icon, because first, it also shows when the PC is connected to a network, but doesn't have internet access, and second, it doens't let me tell if I have the WiFi enable or not without opening the network flyout. Is there anyway to bring the old behaviour back?

I don't believe that there is a way to change it back, but if I'm wrong about that, I'm sure someone will correct me.

I'm not quite sure I understand - the symbol you show is what you would see when there is no internet access. If you do have internet access you will see one of two symbols depending upon the connection type. With Ethernet, you will see this symbol:

If you are connected via WiFi you will get this:

The intent of this icon is to show

    1) Whether or not you are connected to the Internet
    2) When connected, the type of connection that you do have

If you prefer to hide the icon completely, Select Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Select which icons appear on the taskbar, and finally, turn off Network.

If I'm not fully understanding the question, please accept my apologies.

    Samuria,

Just for my own curiosity, you note that you have 4 systems on 1903 that don't show that icon. I'm wondering if it is just hidden as in my 2nd screenshot below.

On all my systems, the icon shows up in the taskbar like this:

If I go into personalization and turn off the Network icon like this....

How do I enable the old networking tray icons on Windows 10 1903?-3.jpg

Then the icon only shows when I expand the view like this:

If it does not show for you at all I would be interested in knowing this. In that event I'll research further to see if I can find a way to make it completely disappear like that.

I'm referring to this icon (picture not mine):

Windows 10 1903 removed this icon in favour of the globe icon, which again, I don't like because it's the same as when the PC isn't connected to a network at all:

Yes, that's exactly what I'm referring to! See how they oversimplified the network icon? That's what I want to revert back to the old behaviour.
