Is there such a thing as a generic Display icon in System tray [Notification area] utility?

The facility for putting an icon into the System tray exists and is used by Windows & by applications to put their chosen icons there.
    - I imagine that is a fairly standard form of code in its own module within relevant Windows components & applications.
    - I imagine that this module is called & the path to the chosen icon is passed in the call.

Has anybody seen a stand-alone, executable form of this facility/module?
    - If it exists then it might also be called by a user-written script.
    - If it exists then it would seem to be the solution for this OP's query and for the many similar queries that have appeared over time.

I have not found a solution by searching the internet. I keep getting swamped by explanations of using Taskbar settings.

[Added for clarity after later discussions with dalchina - see next few posts]

What I want might not exist.

What I want is an 'executable' file that can be called from PS & possibly VBA to place/remove a chosen icon in the System tray.
    - The path of the chosen icon would necessarily be passed within the call.
    - A call would be made to show the chosen icon in the System tray
    - A later call would be made to remove the chosen icon from the System tray
I have no knowledge of or opinion about what the 'executable' would be written in but I understand that C# and VB.Net could be used & I appreciate that C++ might also be suitable.

The closest thing I've found was suggested by @dalchina in a 2017 thread
    Trayconizer 1.1.1 - WhitSoft Development
but making use of it for just putting up a system tray icon would seem pretty convoluted.
    - This utility seems to want to work just for an .exe rather than for, say, a .ps1

Hi, this is claimed to work with Win 10 - scripts- no idea..
4t Tray Minimizer Free/Pro - Minimize Outlook, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and any other applications to the system tray!

    This works too:
eXtra Buttons: utility buttons in the title of the window
(If I recall it adds rt click options to taskbar as well as buttons in the taskbar)

    Whether they meet your requirements...

    Then there's Autohotkey:
    Minimize Window to Tray Menu

    dalchina,

Yes, those utilities are all making use of the imaginary module I described.

My problem is that folders shared over my home network work fine EXCEPT they don't show the icons that should be displayed for the folders. This behavior occurs on any computer in my network. If I copy a folder in the network to my PC the icon shows fine. Any ideas?
