    Network Shortcut issues

My question is why am I unable to use the network Shortcut on my desktop to Enable/Disable my
network like it used to work in win7 ?

I can disable network by right-clicking shortcut, but the option to enable it, is grayed out. i have to keep
going to Network & Sharing Options and drill down into Adapters to re-enable network.
    Am i missing something?

    Thanks,

Hi Jetkwon. Welcome to the Tenforums @Jetkwon

Not really sure which shortcut you are referring too.

If you create a shortcut on your desktop to start NCPA.cpl might be easier.

    Please post the shortcut's properties.

Personally, I use a batch file containing these commands and its shortcut needs to be run as admin
    Code:
netsh interface set interface "Wi-Fi" disabled
netsh interface set interface "Wi-Fi" enabled
Wi-Fi is the name of my WiFi adapter card as it is shown in the Network and Sharing Center.

I have attached a few ss to make it clearer, this is as basic of the function of this shortcut.

as you can see when network is disabled, theirs no option to enable it from shortcut.

    Thanks.

So I created a shortcut from NCPA,cpl on my desktop. I then disabled and got same results. Then went back disabled, went to NCPA and created shortcut with Enable showing. NO go. The enable option does not carry through.

I would report on Feedback Hup. I do not know registry keys to fix.

Think I would use Denis's approach with bat files. Seems quick.

You might try Nirsoft's tools for Context menus.... one example.

In this post, I show how to create shortcuts to connect either wireless or wired NIC: How to configure Ethernet and wireless channels on the same computer?
