What's wrong with Nearby Sharing?

    I should have mentioned one other change that may have affected the machines' ability to see each other: As I said earlier, one of the machines (a laptop) was on WiFi. I plugged into the router with an Ethernet cable. At first, there was no change, but after I turned on SMB 1.0/CIFS and restarted the two machines, they could each see the other. I have to put the laptop back on WiFi and see if still sees the other PC.

    WiFi or Ethernet should make no difference, it should work the same on both.
