My Networked Printer on Win10 no longer works in Windows XP

I have 2 computers, Win10 & WinXP & 2 printers, an HP printer connected to Win10 thru ethernet & an Epson wirelessly. I was having problems in Win10, & you've helped me solve this in thread "HP Officejet printer keeps going offline only on Windows 10".I had no problems with my printers in WinXP, but now I do. When trying to use the HP printer with WinXP, I keep getting messages that it can't communicate with the printer. I've tried to use Add printer on my WinXP machine to start over, & it "sees" my printer on the Win10 machine. However, when I try to go thru the printer wizard, I get to this screen:
My Networked Printer on Win10 no longer works in Windows XP-add-printer-winxp.png
I don't have a password on either computer, but I type in the username, as shown above. Whether the box "remember my password" is checked or not, when I click OK, I get the message
My Networked Printer on Win10 no longer works in Windows XP-add-printer-winxp-message.png

I don't know if this has anything to do with my previous problem or not, but I can't use the HP printer in Windows XP anymore. Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance,

Is Phil an admin user on Windows 10? One of the problems with this is by default when you connect to a PCs printer it's downloads drivers from that pc which if it's a different windows can give all sorts of problems

Thank you for the quick reply. I (Phil) am the administrator on both computers. Also, it was working in the past, for at least the last 10 months. Win10 is 64-bit though, & WinXP is 32-bit.

I did try to download new drivers after this happened on XP, but for some reason, after I connected to HP website & clicked their drivers, the activity icon on my browser just kept spinning forever.

That can sometimes be the problem as security updates effect this and may tighten things it realy is a bad idea to have no passwords you can set auto login with a password which is safer

Thank you for this advice. I'm a little worried about changing things at this point because:
    1. I can print using either printer from Windows 10.
    2. I can copy files between the 2 computers.
    3. I can print from Windows XP using my Epson printer, which is not connected to either computer, but is on the home network.

It took me awhile to get these 3 things to work & I don't want to screw up what I already have.

P.S. I just unplugged my printer & plugged it in again. Then I downloaded the HP Print & Scan Doctor...this time (I had done this before), it found my networked printer. It's working now, but I'm not sure if it'll last.

I will check to see about putting passwords on both computers & using autologon. I know @Brink has a tutorial on this.

Thank you again for your time & help!
