Best way to Sync from source to multiple locations?

    Hey Guys

Can anyone please let me know of the best way to mirror sync a folder to multiple locations?

    Thanks in advance.

It depends what you mean by "sync".

If you mean that one source contains the master copies of all the files concerned & you want to back them up to other locations [i.e. purely a one-way "sync"] then you could use the built-in utility RoboCopy and there are bound to be lots of other tools available for you as well.

There are lots of threads about RoboCopy such as How do I backup files with Robocopy instead of SyncToy

Second that, I use FreeFileSync to mirror my data to a couple backup drives. Really nice piece of software.

    Hey guys

Thanks for the info, I was already using freefile sync, but that only seems to copy to once destination.?
    Unless I have missed something?
What I am trying to do is a mirror copy from source to 2 different locations / local or network shares.

The Robocopy gui seems old, 2006?
I heard there was another one call robomojo, but can't seem to find the msi/exe for it.

Yeah you're missing something. I use FFS to mirror all or portions of any filesystem to any location. I don't see any way it would be limited unless you're trying to do something unusual like mirror two source filesystems to one destination.

    I never use the GUI.

Once you have set up the RoboCopy the way you want you can put it in a batch file and just run the same thing every time so there is no point to the GUI for such uses.

So can you tell me how I can mirror 1 source to 2 destinations on ffs, as I can't see a way to add more than 1 destination?

So for my purpose, could I for example put all the copies in one batch file? eg:

    robocopy c:\test d:\test mir
    robocopy c:\test e:\test mir
    robocopy c:\test e:\test mir

Would it process one after the other? or would I need 3 separate batch files?

Unless I'm not understanding correctly, select source on the left, select destination on the right, select mirror on top right. Compare then sync. Change destination on the right, compare then sync. That copies one source to two destinations, not at that same time mind you, but accomplishes the task.

As far as I know you can just add extra lines to freefilesync, just like is being shown for robocopy.
