    Missing entries under "Network"

Win 10 Laptop and PC. The laptop Explorer doesn't show other computers until I type their name into the address bar.
Is there something (easy) to try that might correct this?
    Thanks.

    1. What Windows 10 version are you on? If you are on v1809, the following services should be set up as indicated:
    a. "Function Discovery Provider Host" set as "Automatic"
    b. "Function Discovery Resource Publication" set as "Automatic (Trigger Start)"
    c. "SSDP Discovery" set as "Automatic"
    d. "UPnP Device Host" set as "Automatic"

    2. If that does not help, go to "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features" > "Turn Windows features on or off" (the link on upper left), and check the settings for "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support". Make sure "SMB 1.0/CIFS Client" is checked.
NOTE: enabling this could make your system vulnerable to exploits, but it is the only way some people were able to access all the devices on their local network.

    3. Another option would be to enable your router to be the "master browser" if it has that capability.
