Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.

    Hello.

So I completely replaced Windows 10 Home with Ubuntu.

Ubuntu was not working well on my computer {Acer Aspire 2 in 1 convertible with 32 Gb SSD} so I decided to go back and install again Windows 10.

After successful new clean install, I see that “Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter” so I’m unable to connect to the internet.

Also “No audio output device is installed”.

This type of Acer uses Realtek, have already downloaded some drivers but still “Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter”.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hi MikeMickey.

Can you get into BIOS. If you can and assuming you have not made changes to it I would reload the defaults. The wording could be different but we want the base machine to go out and sense and reload installed hardware.

Do these devices, network and sound, show in device manager as being there albeit in an unrecognized state.

You could also try a Network reset. Start > Settings > Network and internet > bottom of right hand side of page.

    Hi Caledon.

The best thing was to go buy a USB wi fi adapter {cheap one} and connect to the internet in that way. Then download a program to update the drivers.
The machine is already functioning normally.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes the dongles are cheap and can add some real speed. Glad you got it sorted.
