If you are using the Virgin hub 3, it has 4 Gigabit ethernet ports, so plug the second Computer into one of the spare ports and network them and you will be able to happily sync without added complications.
How should I sync 10GB of documents data between my 2 Windows 10 PCs?

I use a program called MirrorFolder to keep critical files in sync between two of my computers over my internal network, so encryption is not necessary. Certainly can be done if that is what is wanted. The drives have about 345GB of data that MirrorFolder manages for me.
I've been using it since 2006.
It's not free, $39 US for a single license.
You can use your router as a hub, connecting it to your Virgin Media HUB and then connect both computers to the router. Turn of NAT in the router so it acts as a switch and you're all set. Both computers online and connected to your internal network at the same time.
Share the folders you want to sync, setup MirrorFolder to manage them and you're done.

I use Free File Sync to make backup copies. I just did a test between 2 pcs on my home network, folders called local and remote. After setting up the required access permissions, I opened FFS, opened the remote shares using run box and the remote ip \\192.168.1.100, and drag + dropped the folders into FFS. I clicked the big button marked Sync 2-way, and the folders synced. I tested adding files at each pc and everything was copied as expected. (You only need FFS installed on one pc).
Can't see the point of uploading to cyberlockers when all you need is some Cat cables (and maybe a $15 switch if there's not enough sockets). Also, you are syncing at 1 Gbit - I doubt if your internet upload speed is that high.

Thank you. Yes, 5GB would definitely be too small for me. My documents are currently 8GB and that doesn't include images.
How would I encrypt my files? During any typical week I would be working on several files in several different directories. I suppose that I could zip the whole lot up into an single 8GB .zip file and put a password on it. But that seems extremely inefficient!
To recap, all I am wanting to do is sync all my documents on my two PCs !

Maybe I'm late to the party, and certainly TL;DR (because I'm lazy) ...
But I'm not clear on how you want to master the data.
1. Of the two computers, is one of them the master ... and changes or additions must be copied to the slave?
Or can changes be made on either computer and the two must be sync/merged?
2. Can you use cloud storage ... and just sync each computer to the cloud?

SyncToy is unsupported by Microsoft and it sometimes introduces additional copies of a file, as in filename[1].typ instead of replacing an older version of that file.
I tried some free sync tools, but they all broke down under heavy loads or big differences between source and target folders. I paid for Goodsync, File Sync Backup Software | GoodSync, which has been bulletproof reliable for me, You can set up different sync "jobs" for different situations, and each job can have different options. Worth a look when you are ready to move beyond SyncToy.

Yes, changes be made on either computer and the two must be sync/merged.
i.e. I want the most recent copy of each file.
And obviously I don't want to have to copy ALL the data each time I do a sync (as this would take too long).
Recap:
I want to sync between two Windows 10 x64 PCs.
I have found ToySync to be unreliable, particularly when I have been synching from a PC to a memory stick and then onto a different PC. If nothing else ToySync often leaves empty directories in place.
TL;DR: No, I do not want a copy of all my data on The Cloud (see below)
Why not The Cloud?
I do not want to use cloud storage because from what I can see every major website has been hacked, and even if they haven't been hacked (yet), I'm quite sure that the security services will have free access too all of our data and, not that I have anything remotely interesting to hide, I simply do not want that as I don't trust the security services either. Plus there keep being holes found in digital certificates... not to mention holes in the operating systems... not to meantion all manner of viruses etc lurking....
Some day yes the cloud will be secure, but for now NO!

GoodSync looks good. However according to one review "Good Sync Free" is not genuinely "Free" is it a time-bombed trial. This level of dishonesty is worrying. And the paid-for version is disgustingly expensive at $49.95. For something I only use about once per week, that is way, WAY too much money.
Mirror Folder also seems too expensive. Plus I only want it to sync on demand, because I want it to sync ALL my data (currently about 10GB) and this could take up a lot of processing resources if happening randomly, rather than when I require it.
The majority of mobile phone apps are only a few $ at most. Occasionally one might even spend $10, but that would be tops. And this seems a fair level of pricing.
Any other suggestions?

Create Synchronicity - works and removes empty folders and is free. Here it takes about 7 minutes to sync 330GB of data to an external USB that's one way as it's a backup however it will do both ways, relatively simple to use and you get an accurate copy.
Free File Sync is good and faster however now bundles stuff with the downloads and updates which if you donate are excluded for 6 months however the bundled stuff still appeared, kind of put me off what in effect is a good program, you can decline the bundled stuff on installing though.
Synchredible free for personal use OKish but has an annoying buy me nag screen, wasn't that impressed with it anyway myself, but may suit someone.
Microsofts Sync Toy already mentioned and not entirely accurate enough for me as well as being a bit slow.
