No wi fi after reinstalling windows 10

we have had to reinstall windows 10 and find that wi fi will not connect to router, we cannot find any information in the help / diagnosis sections on how to get the wi fi back. Obviously we can gain access to the internet via a hard wire from the router but this restricts our movement .

Any help would be much appreciated, not being too technical basic info would be beneficial many thanks

Hi, normally you simply have to

    - select your router from the screen from a list
(e.g. by rt clicking the network icon in the notification area, then click Open Network and Internet Settings)
    - click 'Connect'
    - press and hold the button on the router
    - you should be connected.

How have you tried to connect, and what has happened?

if you click Action Centre (open square box usually bottom left in notification area) do you see a tile in the flyout called Network?

If you click that do you see a list of available networks (possible Wifi connections) and if so, do you see yours?
If not, what do you see?
If you see none, you may have a driver problem, or your Wi-fi may be disabled.

If you see none, if you open your Device Manager, do you see that Wireless Network Adapter has a driver - something like this?

Try Windows key + s, network and click the result.
You should see a screen like this:

Notice 'Show available networks' - that should let you see routers near you providing a Wi-fi connection.
Then notice two options- a troubleshooter and an option to update the driver.
Try running the troubleshooter and post a screenshot of the result.

Notice these ways of turning Wi-fi off:

    Make sure it is enabled.
