If we know the model of the router we can know for sure
The router I have here is an Arris and the router is a Segecom.
I use spectrum here in San Antonio. When I first went to the 200 speed my router at the time could not keep up with 200 speed. I bought a new router and I get 200 WIRED now. Wireless is a different story. Lucky to get 60-90 wireless. I am not worried about the wireless because my whole house is wired. The only thing using my wi-fi is my phone.
Below is wired. I am waiting for Google Fiber to come to my neighborhood.
Commander, I am also in San Antonio - but will be leaving for Rhode Island in a few weeks. I have a home near the RIM. I haven't had time to look over your reply yet (not feeling well). Will get back to you ASAP.
Commander, I'm sorry for taking so long to respond. I have a rare type of head pain that is only treated in three places in the country. I'm planning on applying to one by the end of the week. The pain lasts the entire time I'm upright - so I have not been able to respond until now (I'm having a short break from the pain).
My Modem is an Arris, model TM 1602 and the router is a Sagemon model Fast 5260. To answer your last question, the speed is 144Mbps - much slower than yours. My modem is connected to my router with CAT5 cable. I have the same setup in Rhode Island (I'm still in Texas) - but there I have a combination modem/router - but the same kind of results. It appears to me that the router efficiencies are extremely poor. In both cases, my PC is only about 5 feet from the routers. Any advice on how I can get a lot more of the speed available to me (wired) from the routers? Thank you..........
Where did you get 700+? In my post, I said 144 Mbps. Oh, I see - that's not my post - it comes from SOAPM.
