    Try FF Portable v38

    PortableApps.com - Browse /Mozilla Firefox, Portable Ed./Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 38.0 at SourceForge.net

Don't run it at the same time as your installed Firefox. Launch the old portable version and see if you get the same problem connecting to your router login page. You can delete the portable version afterwards.

But as I said it happens in Chrome too.

I did try v38 portable. Same thing happens.

Okay thanks for trying. Reason for asking: FF 38 handles secure connections differently.

Okay - another idea. what is your Antivirus? Did you change it or upgrade to a newer version recently?

If SSL scanning is switched on it might install a certificate that could possibly be the problem.

Purpose of SSL/TLS filtering, and is this an ESET or router bug? - ESET Internet Security ESET Smart Security Premium - ESET Security Forum

If you are using an AV with it's own certificate for SSL scanning either turn off temporarily to test or locate and import the certificate into FF/ chrome.

    Try this (temporarily) to test.

Other option: Turn off web shield component (temporarily) to test.

I often have AVG web shield disabled. I hate AVG honestly and it's so intrusive that I have it disabled much of the time. I'm looking for a better free option but there aren't many choices. Avast/AVG are awful imo and then there's either Avira with it's endless popups and nags, or maybe Kaspersky which I'm unsure of it's trustworthiness lately. The others are very limited (no control/no custom scans/no settings). But AVG even seems to scan things and do things when it's supposed to be disabled temporarily. It's always causing some type of HDD activity.

So yeah, even with "protection off" in the tray icon, the issue with the certificate still happens.

Tried Kaspersky (latest version removed too many options) along with AVG and Avast plus quite a few others.

If you want something less intrusive maybe try this. I use the free version myself but also have additional protection in place.

From what I read, NANO Antivrus' System Guard monitors HTTP traffic but NOT HTTPS traffic, which is an issue imo since so much of the web is HTTPS now.

While I'm likely to be shot down.... it has been said if you a good working knowledge of your PC and the Internet, Windows Defender provides a very good level of protection.

You likely are NOT the person that follows links in emails, that opens strange unexpected attachments in emails, that knows the pitfalls of downloading free Licensed software and that scans ZIP files before opening them.

I'll bet AVG, or any other product, hasn't identified much to you as you know better.

This was a "Verizon - implemented" update. Check in the Verizon Direct forums on DSLreports.com

Exactly. As I stated before there is nothing wrong with theOP's computer. The problem is with Verizon.
