FYI, the internal wifi adapter was causing this issue, and made the usb wifi adapter not working.
Even disabling the internal card was not enough, the usb one still did not work.
I had to physically remove this card to have a working wifi connection. Very strange.
The card was a TP-Link TL-WN881ND
And reading the comments on amazon, I am not the only one having this issue with this card and Win10

Many times windows wifi manager may have such problems. Before trying anything else, I suggest you to try a wifi utility(manager), like TP-LINK Wireless Utility, and your problem might be fixed.
