For years I've had shares from my XP64 machine mapped to my Debian server with the following fstab entries. It's a lot faster transferring files between machines using cli and I don't have any of the windows protection limitations.
That doesn't seem to work with a Win10 drive, any suggestions how to alter this entry to make it work? Nothing I try seems to work???Code://192.168.0.XXX/Archive /archive cifs username=$$$$$$,password=********,sec=ntlmv2 0 0

Who would have thunk it, the problem was having, "Simple File Sharing" enabled on the xp machine. It kept the permissions from being viewable when I tried to set the folders permission. After turning that off, I gave everyone full permission and presto...
The first tweak let me mount the drive but I still didn't have access to the folders. This step gave me the access to copy everything over.

If you have problems accessing NAS FROM XP then in your SAMBA file add the following 3 lines in the GLOBAL section in the samba.cnf file.
There's usually no probs accessing XP FROM the NAS but the other way around = especially if you have on your NAS large TB HDD's whether in a RAID config or not.
In your smb.config file add
[global]
lanman auth=yes
ntlm auth=yes
Now you can see it works
