File Share like FTP in Window 10 Pro

    File Share like FTP in Window 10 Pro


    I can't fine any tutorial if is possible to make a file host / share like FTP but with Windows 10.
    To connect with \\IP and to be visible for all the internet. Not Home Group, Not My Network.

    + i have a router.

    Need windows server for that ?

    You can try doing this How to set up an FTP server in Windows 10. If that doesn't work, you could setup a third-party FTP software using a free bit of software i.e. FileZilla Server.

    I try Filezilla and the timeout after disconnect is insane big.

    If you want it live on the internet you will need to forward ports on the router to the pc which should have a static IP what ports to forward depends on what mode the FTP is running

    Yes i know the port forwarding. The FTP works. But i expected to let me open files, run .exe files directly from server.

    Like a virtual HDD but with access to internet.

    What mode are you using Active and Passive modes in FTP - Web24
    ftp is File Transfer protocol, not remote access protocol. It simply won't do what you want you cant run programs on it

    As per @Samuria, you're only able to transfer files to/from an FTP server. I believe what you're wanting to do you'd need a Network Drive like a file server or NAS.

    You can use rdp or teamviewer to login to windows and run anything
