Internet issues on fresh install of Win 10

Just reinstalled windows on to a new SSD. Everything freshly installed, but I've been enountering problems with my internet connection. And I really can't make sense of it.
It happened prior to and after installing the latest driver to my tp-link wireless card.

I really don't know where to start, on Edge I can connect to all pages, on Vivaldi and Chrome, both chromium, most pages give me "this site can't be reached". On discord, I'm allowed to connect up to my account, but attempting to entering a channel leaves me stuck at attempting to connect. And even stranger, my steam account works, but if I try to log to a different account it gives me Friends network unavailable and do not allow me to go online, or browse store.

Is there anything that can give such sporadic, yet consistent internet problems on an entirely fresh install?

In the event viewer, there is a lot of events with various variants of "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID" activation permission, launch permission etc. No idea what that can be about.

Worth saying that I have attempted to connect without any firewalls active

Set your DNS to 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 open a cmd prompt type

    Ipconfig /all

    Tracert 194.119.131.66

Post both results also check browsers and ensure you don't have a proxy set

So I eventually found instructions based on the chromium problems, and what I found was someone suggesting

Run "Services" and search for "Cryptographic Services".
Then right-click on that and press "Properties", then "Log in" and select "Local system account" with the tick on "Allow service to interact with desktop" and finally click on "OK".
Do right-click on "Cryptographic Services" again, but this time press "Restart".

No idea how this is supposed to fix it, but seemingly did, for both steam, chromium and discord.

Would like to know exactly what this did, if it's just masking an issue, or fixing one.
