    Network Keeps shutting of when not in use from PC


    Every time I leave my Pc alone for a while a few hrs it turns off. Then I have to go in and enable it.
    How do I keep it on?
    Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection

    Microsoft Network adapter Multiplexor Protocol only box not checked
    Any ideas thanks

    Have you got something like allow this computer to turn this device off to save power enabled in Device Manager. I'd suggest going to Device Manager > Find the network adapter > right click > properties and power management. Check the settings.

    It's also worth checking you've got up to date drivers for the network card.

    If this issue has been resolved please mark it as solved, since there's been no further posting indicating fixed/not fixed I'll follow up on @D3LL suggestion about checking Device Manager.

    I've included a snip of mine showing the box (unchecked) "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" that could be the cause of the problem.
