Unidentified Network - Ethernet doesnt have a valid IP configuration

Just did a clean install via the latest Windows Media Creation Tool and when the installation process says 'Let's connect you to the internet', it wouldn't let me choose that option because the only option I had was Unidentified Network, so I skipped that.

Now I have Windows installed but still have the Unidentifed Newtork/no internet issue. I have an ethernet connection to my router.

I have tried the cmd.exe commands such as netsh winsock reset, ipconfig /release etc

I ran Troubleshoot and it after it resets ethernet adapter, it says "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration".

Check if your network is Private and enable IPv6.

Oh, and resetting network could help too (after doing the above)

The unidentified network is Public. Both IPv4 and IPv6 are checked and are in properties.

I'm a PC noob - need more elaborate instructions.

    Set network as Private:

Open command prompt (admin) and type:
    ipconfig/all
    And copy results here

    Thanks Andre.

I just lucked a fix on this by checking the mobo manufacturer and seeing a ethernet driver - installed that and it fixed immediately.

Guess I should have checked to update hardware drivers since no internet means no windows updated drivers.
