Can both computers have a PIN and share data on private network?

I have 2 laptops and want to share data between them.
    They are both w10 1803.
Can I use a PIN on both and share data or does one need to have a password set?

Also when I right click a folder I don't see a SHARE option. Am I going nuts?

Sorry about resurrecting an old thread. I thought it best to not create another thread since the problem is more or less the same.
I shared an external drive on the network (god knows I want a NAS) from one PC with Win 10 Home. I've been having trouble sharing the drive to my laptop Win 10 Home. I followed the instructions here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...over-a-network to give access to my user account but when I provide my password with the microsoft email I use for the admin account, it doesn't accept it.
