    Sky Q router and Devolo

    Hi can someone help please

I have been running a Sky router and Devolo 500+ Duo for some time now with no problems.
But Sky has sent me a new SkyQ router and the base unit of the Delolo will not connect to the new router no matter what I try.
On running the Devolo Cockpit it says (no local PLC device found)?

What is the ip of the router and the ip of the Devolo Cockpit its likly the ips are not in the same range and the ip of the router may be different. You may have to manually set your ip on a pc to get to the control panel to change the Devolo Cockpit ip range

this may help Devolo dLAN Cockpit (English) How-To - YouTube

You have to reset the device and set it back up for the new Gateway.

    Hi there

    @sam02

First set up your SKY Q main box and any mini-boxes (SKY has a convoluted setup for SKY Q -- uses an "internal mesh" -- on a wifi network you will probably see these as SKYxxx or similar).

Now check no enabled firewalls in the Router that block wifi access.
Finally on the router enable DHCP, and ensure both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz wifi are enabled (some older devices can't use the 5ghz band).

Check also if both IPV4 and IPV6 are enabled -- older devices will probably need IPV4 -- newer routers often now set IPV6 as default.

    Cheers

Hi thank you for that info but i am afraid its a bit over the top for me, i have tried the Sky Q router and i get no increase in speed than my old router so i will stick with what i have.

    But thanks for the advice

I found the Sky Q router quite temperamental and ditched it after a few days, even with my hard-wired setup the Q mini's kept falling off the network and had trouble connecting the main box, reverting back to my old router sorted it.

    Hi there
In general Routers supplied (at least IMO) by ISP's etc are far inferior to those you can get yourself - there's probably no reason to accept ISP supplied routers - although for some they might be tempting as they are often thrown in with the price of the package.

Anyway glad you all fixed it.

    Cheers

Well its not fixed i just went back to the ole router and its working just fine now i think what i need to do is reset the devolo back to factory settings but no matter what i do it still has the old router details. i am busy for the next two week and dont want to loose the WiFi but i will try again.
I read somewhere thats sky Q routers do not work with devolo products but i dont know where i read it now

so I have been battling with the same issue. I have 4 x devolo 500, previously working with virgin, swapped to sky and now they don't work. tried all sorts from forums like setting a fixed ip, unlocking all firewalls etc and when I went to the cockpit to check connections I get something like no plc connected. I have finally got them working. I had my main devolo connected via ethernet to my new sky modem. I removed all devolos from around the house then removed my ethernet from the sky modem to main devolo and placed it into my iMac instead. turned on the cockpit and works perfect
