    Curse it! It slipped by me before I could say no! Now it is waiting for me to restart to finish installing it.

    I can't see any way of stopping the update. Or where it will be stored if it turns up again.

    Any suggestions?

    There is now an update that is supposed to cure the 970 fault. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...server-2008-r2

    No I have not, I do not run Win 7 these days but the update you point to should address the problem. I would install it.
