Who can help with various Windows FTP server questions?

I'd like to give my dad access to some pdf's on my computer while at the same time practice some of the things I'm learning for network+.

What I'm wanting is that when he logs in, he will have access to a folder with books at C:\users\chris\books and a folder with music at C:\users\chris\music.

I tried creating two ftp sites, but it seems that only one can be running at a time?
Is FTP limited to one folder and any subfolders inside it?
In all the youtube videos I watch on setting up an FTP server in windows, they all make a separate user account for signing into the FTP server. What is the point of that account?
Is there any way that a person logging into my FTP server could find access to other files and folders I did not grant access to? Suppose I make a folder in C:/users called FTP Folder, if someone knew what he was doing, could he find his way out of that one folder and start exploring other areas on my HDD?

What are you using as the ftp server and how is it running in active or passive mode? Trying to share c:\users folders is not a good idea because even on the pc as admin you cant access some of these folders because of the permissions create a dedicated folder and ensure ntfs permission are set to everyone.

Ftp is secure and you can set permission on the folders you share depending on the server your using you have to setup a ftp account so the user can login and like windows different ones have different rights

I don't know what active or passive means
I'm running the built-in ftp server in windows 10 under IIS.

Could that dedicated folder be in the root of the drive?
