How to setup two WiFi devices on same computer to access two networks

I don't know how to describe this properly, but here goes.

I have a wifi router in my home with internet access (it is the DSL router/WiFi device provided by AT&T). In my home I have several computers on IP address 192.168.1.xxx One of these computers is my laptop.

I have a motorhome (I store it on my property). The motorhome has a router in it (it's a D-link DGL-4500) It connects to the motorhome's AVR, TVs, and BD player. I can use my Laptop to connect the motorhome network (which is on IP 192.168.0.xxx). But I can't get the AT&T internet on this router (the motorhome is too far away from my house, I think)

My Laptop has a built in WiFi, and it has a USB WiFi booster adapter (Alfa AWUS-036nh) so I see WiFi 1 and WiFi 2 on the laptop (1 is the home network/internet and 2 is the motorhome). With the Alfa I can see my home network on the Laptop and get Internet access on the Laptop while in the motorhome. However the motorhome network and Home network are seperate. I can't share files or connect the motorhome router to the internet (which is desirable so I can get movie streaming on my motorhome TV).

My question:
Can I put the motorhome router on the same IP network (the 192.168.1.xxx) so I can access the other computers files, and get connected to the internet? I'm thinking the Alfa WiFi will pick up the internet and home network and share it to the D-Link router in the motorhome.

Or is there another way to get my AT&T provided internet into the motorhome?

The network 192.168.xxx.xxx is only a local network which is distributed via DHCP from the router.
I would suggest setting up the D-link DGL-4500 as a range extender if this is supported, or purchase a new range extender and use this in the motorhome which could connect to the router in the house "Range Permitting". This would then be on the same network and you would extend the range of the house wifi into the "Garden/Motorhome Area", you could also use the same SSID and password from the home WiFi for seamless extended roaming, and would also let you connect the devices in the motorhome to it for sharing files etc.

I would say that being able to connect from the motorhome to the home wifi on your laptop, that it is not too far, but the technology in the Dlink Router is not good enough as this is only b or g wifi capable.

I was trying to use equipment I already had - but it looks like my stuff is too old or lacking the technology.

You say you can see the network ok so if you change the routers range to the same as home you should be able to get it ok worth a go

Before you rush out spending your hard earned cash, Im not saying its too old "per se", it could be a configuration issue or even frimware, but as you can access the home wifi on you laptop from the motorhome, then it does lead to technology age or quality issues.

The one I pulled up on amazon was just a for instance, and there are many out there.
I personaly prefer netgear but cost is a little more.

Have fun setting up and post back when you have this sorted or if you need further help

I did not notice the 3rd subnet difference on the motorhome router (duh)

If you change the settings in the motorhome router, to be the same as the home router, and try to connect to the home wifi "if range extending is supported on the Dlink" then it may work

I am assuming that your DHCP setup page in your Dlink router looks similar to the image below.
Change the settings to reflect the same DHCP settings as the house router. It may just work

That last post was sort of what I was trying to ask. if I change the motorhome router to 192.168.1.xxx range (so it is the same as my home IP address range, then I will have two routers using the same IP range.
Is that okay?

Would I disable the DHCP server on one of the routers so there is no IP address assignment conflicts (or maybe have one router set to use 1-100 and the other set to use 101-254).

As long as both routers don't have same IP they can both be in the same range if you want internet turn off DHCP on the home

If the motor home router support it, and you connect as as range extender, then the home router will assign an IP to the motor home router.

As mentioned in post #8, they cannot have the same IP.

This said, if you can connect, you may still have the issue of connection distance and quality of connection which may impact your speeds.

Regarding the disabling of DHCP, this could cause you a few issues when connecting devices at home as you would have to set them up manually but if you are comfortable with that, then its ok.

If you want a computer or device to always have the same IP address assigned, you can create a DHCP reservation.The router will assign the IP address only to that computer or device.
