The perpetual "Cast to Device" feature

    Hi Guys,

First time poster here. I have a WD NAS which stores my music files. I have recently purchased a Denon receiver and I can successfully cast songs to it. However I notice that the "cast" option appears in the right-click menu only when I am at the file level. This is ok for movie files cast to my TV but music needs to be cast on the album level. I mean who wants to cast song after song. I also see that the native "cast" app does not allow additional files to be added which is doubly useless.

Does anyone know 1) if I can cast at the folder level and 2) if there is another SIMPLE :) way to accomplish this.

    Thanks

Are you talking about on the AVR itself? That is a result of the engineers at Denon's shortcomings. They expect people to shuffle songs. Helps to know the model number of your AVR.

Hey Bro, no it's not the AVR. It's that win10 doesnt allow cast from a folder. See 2 screenshots one showing not available at the folder level and one showing available at the file level...

If these files are on the NAS, not the computer, the AVR is controlling the playback of the songs. If you are streaming them from the NAS to Windows and then Windows to the AVR, you are going to run into problems. Let the AVR control the songs from the NAS, or get a good media server Jukebox program. You are going to be limited with the abilities on the AVR, because of limited space for the program that the engineers at Denon were allowed.

The other option is to just create playlists and treat those albums you want to play as a playlist.
