Connecting PC to Router using a second phone socket

Hi. My ADSL router/modem is in the lounge and is connected to a phone socket there. My PC is in the bedroom and I have a nano USB adapter for wifi connection.

I've been looking into Powerline kits and a thought occurred to me: there's an unused phone socket in my bedroom. Given that all the phone sockets are for the same line, is the one in my bedroom any use to me e.g. can I wire my PC to the bedroom phone socket?

My thanks to anyone prepared to clarify this for me.

No, but you might be able to move the router/modem combo to the bedroom phone socket and plug an ethernet cable into it from the PC. You would want to also move any type of filter that may be on the line from the phone outlet to the modem, although I'm not sure if that is still a thing that is needed for ADSL.
The only way to know is to try it out.

Thanks, kah. That's what I suspected. The router's gotta stay where it is as I've other kit plugged into it.

Considering the age and quality of most residential phone wiring, it's likely powerline or WiFi would be many times faster than whatever you'd be able to get out of the phone wiring even if there were adapters available to do so.

In any phone line you can only have one router connection if you had two you would have to have two accounts
