    Remote Desktop not working after update

    Running third party RDP "RDPWrap-v1.6.2" and after updating 1809 on 12/16/2018 build 17763.194 it stopped working. Just in case you start searching: I tried the following .reg which is shown in several places on the internet, but it did not work:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\CredSSP]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\CredSSP\Parameters]
    @=""
    "AllowEncryptionOracle"=dword:00000002

    Found another problem. I have a checkers game that created for Win 95 and it runs in 640 x 480, the problem is that the update would resize all minimized apps to 640 x 480. I have rolled back 17134.471 and everything is working again

    Did you update RDP Wrapper after the update to version 1809? There is an update.bat file in the RDP Wrapper zip file.

    Don't know anything about it, and it is too late now - I could reinstall the feature, but don't know how many more bugs are in it. If their remote desktop app from store does not work, I had to assume that there is a bug in the feature. Why didn't MS provide the KB or an update to the wrapper?

    Because it isn't Microsoft's program. I use RDP Wrapper on all my computers and it works great on version 1809, because the AUTHOR of the program has updated it to work with version 1809. But you have to use the author's update utility that he provided - it is not Microsoft's responsibility to update every third party program out there.

    Have you done the 12/16/2018 update from MS yet?

    EDIT: Did you read my posts? I am using the same RDP you are speaking of.

    So you are correct. That did appear to break RDP Wrapper. RDP Wrapper hooks into termsrv.dll in order to work. Microsoft updated termsrv.dll with the latest cumulative update. That changes the location inside termsrv.dll that RDP Wrapper hooks into. The author is pretty good at adding new additions to the ini file that tells RDP Wrapper where to hook into termsrv.dll when new versions of the .dll file are pushed by MS. The workaround until the RDP Wrapper .ini file is updated is to copy an older version of termsrv.dll into Windows/System32.

    So now it's time to go back and dig out the termsrv.dll file from the original 1809 ISO file and copy it into Windows\System32.

    I have never used the .ini, I just downloaded the version and installed. I did see that the .dll was changed, but I did not try to install an older version, I expect MS is going to come out with a new update real soon because the pro version is broke to, I have 4 PCs and a lot of chances to test their "failed" programming - WHEN ARE THEY GOING BACK TO XP????

    I just copied the original 1809 termsrv.dll back and it's working fine again. Until the next update changes it again.

    Good for you, glad it's working. There is still the issue with it distorting minimized programs.
