Unable to assign letter to Western Digital My Cloud drive

I recently bought a Western Digital My Cloud drive...see picture.

After connecting it to my router the drive shows up on 'My Computer'...see screenshot.

I am able to enter the drive...i.e. look inside (it's completely empty)
It seems I have to assign a letter to the drive before I can use it.
I haven't a clue on how to go about assigning a letter to the drive, so I'm hoping someone on the forum can guide me through the process. Any help would be appreciated.

Open "Computer Management" from the start menu.
Under "Storage", left click "Disc Management" and wait...
You may need to drag the RH side of the box to the right to get a good view...
You should then see your new drive, without a drive letter
Right click your new drive and assign a drive letter. Usually, the next available letter above C will be chosen for you by default

Unable to assign letter to Western Digital My Cloud drive

    Thanks for replying skcusime.

I did as you directed, but only the main drives appear...i.e. Main hard drive / Recovery / and the DVD drive.
No WD My Cloud, yet it still shows under 'My Computer'.
    Here is a screenshot:

I have 2 WDC MyCloud NAS drives attached to my Router. As shown here in red I Map the Public Folder on each [the drives themselves are on the right, in blue]:

Many thanks to everyone who has tried to help me, but I'm finding this far too complicated to follow (I'm in my 70's). I have visited the Western Digital site, and read the manual (mostly gobbledygook to me), installed WD Access and WD Link, read How to map a WD Network drive......but I'm none the wiser.
Plain fact is....I haven't a clue what I'm doing, and the more I try to understand the more confused I become, so I'm going to call it a day on this particular project. Thanks again to everyone who has tried to help me.

    Milton,
Let's have one more go and I'll make it as simple as possible...

    1. Click and open the Search Bar in Windows 10
Type Windows Features in the search bar
Click Turn Windows Features on or off
    2. Scroll down to SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
    3. Check the box net to SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
Click OK to accept the changes and reboot

Just give that a try. It's too good a drive to throw in a drawer somewhere and not use.

    @ skcusime

I did as you suggested I've had various notifications (see BOTTOM screenshot). 9 notifications to be precise.
I also noticed a WD Access icon has appeared in the task bar, and when I 'right-click' on it it shows 4 (main) options:

    WDMyCloud
    About WD Access
    View Notifications (9)
    Quit

When I hover the cursor over the first option 'WDMyCloud' I am presented with further options: (from top to bottom):

    Upload Files
    Open
Map (with further options indicated, but as yet, I've NOT checked what they are)
    Create Shortcut
(with further options indicated, but as yet, I've NOT checked what they are)
Settings (as yet, I've NOT checked this out)
    Properties
(as yet, I've NOT checked this out)
    Shut Down
    WD Learning Center

(see TOP screenshot) . Don't know why it appeared at the top)

Sounds like you've made some progress.
Have you tried to upload some files?
