    Not following last post.

You made the changes in the power mgmt tab, that is you removed the check mark from the box "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power".

In one of your posts you mention this was an older device. It could just be the OS has moved on. I know you said the issue started with a recent CU.

What device and model is this adapter?

So in post 16 you mentioned getting a driver for Windows 10. You said it didn'y work if I understood correctly.

Is this the driver you got from November 2018?

And have you tried an early version say from early 2018?

Problem is that most owners of the adapter can't install the drivers that come with this device for some reason.it always tells the user that it can't find the device.as a result it uses the realtek drivers

So if you go to update drivers and down the path Have disk / search my computer it grabs the wrong driver.

Put a bullet in it !!

You click on update, then browse my computer, then let me pick. You should see drivers on machine, thinking you TP will show, if not click Have disk assuming you have driver.

I had this issue with "default gateway is not available"

I found that deselecting IPv6 in...

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections -> WiFi properties

    ...works.
