    Hi tfwul.

    Any chance you know what driver you were using in in 1803?

    Do you IPv6 enabled or disabled.

    As a starting position you might try the wireless driver listed on the manufactures site for your device, (Asus ).

    Not familiar with your AV. Have you tried disabling? I saw something where Trend Micro with 1809 produces an issue, I know you are not Trend Micro but maybe your vendor is using similar architecture.

    It's telling you there is a hardware problem as something else is conflicting with DMA or irq check properties in devices manager

    Hello to you both,
    Many thanks for your replies.

    @Caledon Ken:
    As for 1803, frankly, I don't know, this is a brand new laptop and I installed 1809 right from the start. There are no other applications yet, so the AV is handled by Windows Defender right now.
    IPv6 is enabled.
    Adapter settings are set to Dual band 802.11a/b/g - I see a 2nd entry reading 802.11n/ac (that is no dual band). No idea what is best though.
    @Samuria: I am not sure, I checked the device manager on this adapter: everything is fine there.

    Now, I have discovered that the error events are showing up whilst checking WiFi speed. Maybe, for WiFi, it is too fast(?)
    There are no issues when running the same speedtest but using a wired connection.

    I think there are no issues under normal circumstances (not doing speedtests I mean)
    Probably I got worried too quickly and I should just see how things go..

    Great.

    So are you using the 5GHz band (n/ac) or the 2.4 band. (5 gives great speeds and 2.4 gives better speeds at distance.)

    Do not worry about it. Just means that there was not a Ping response for a IP when Windows tried to find out what ports on a server was open. It is common to see these types of Warnings and such.
