Large increase in network latency after latest update (11/14/2018)

After the latest update (today, Nov 14 2018) my network latency seems to have gone through the roof. I am a composer and music producer who uses several computers to run virtual instruments that send audio data over my LAN. The machines had been running fine but they did an update today and when I rebooted I no longer had clean audio transfers - there are all kinds of crackles and pops in the audio.

    So:

    1. How do I fix this problem?
    2. Is there any way to completely disable the automatic updates? (Yes, I do the "delay" updates thing).

This is causing me a lot of lost productivity. And the system worked fine before the update, so odds are extremely high it was the update that caused the problem. Back in the XP days I was able to choose when (and if) to update, so I could do it during slow-downs when I had time to adapt if a problem arose. I am extremely annoyed that I no longer have that option. But I digress...

    Thanks in advance,

What version of windows are you on ? Just about every supported release of W10 received a Cumulative Update. That will help a whole bunch. Run the command WINVER and post what it says.

I'm on Windows version 1803 17134.407 just updated yesterday and I've seen no latency accessing my NAS system. Performance is about the same.
