    Cloudflare

Does anybody now what this cloudflare bs is and how I stop it. All websites refer to domains - I am not on a domain

It's a content delivery network and web application firewall/DDOS protection, it's speeding up the sites you browse and protecting them from hackers - both of which are a good thing.

    Hi folks
It's often used to host other things -- I think even the notorious site still flying the Jolly Rodger uses some of its servers while being chased around the planet.

The most annoying features I find are those captcha things -- Often I can't get the correct text to enter and revert to an audio method if available - which rather defeats the whole purpose of it anyway.

Cloudflare often run into access problems as you have Hollywood and people like B.R.E.I.N forever trying to get them to take down copyrighted and pirated material on its servers -- which if you have a world wide community is a bit like a dog chasing it's own tail.

Problem will probably go away in a while. Note also some ISP's use cloudflare as well so it's not always the target website that's at fault.

    Cheers

CloudFlare also runs fast, privacy-oriented DNS resolvers at IPv4 addresses 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I use them, and they're fast and reliable. See this August 2018 blog post for more info: Introducing DNS Resolver, 1.1.1.1 (not a joke).

    @cereberus

putlockers.fm decided to use cloudflares secure dns to improve their sites security,
which is a really smart choice!
We're gonna see more and more sites start using cloudflare.com
Only way to " stop or get ridd of it " is to ask putlockers.fm to remove the cloudflare NS from their site.
And that's not likely gonna happen.

It takes about 5 seconds to connect. Heaven forbid if all other sites go that way - it will be like being in dialup again!

But you shouldn't see the cloudflare msg everytime you enter sites that use cloudflare protection.
maybe like 1-2 times aweek if you visit the site regularly.

I'm guessing that the DDOS is coming from the folk who actually own the content hosted on the various piracy portals - they want such sites shut down, but will settle for reduced functionality.

The only other place I've seen the Cloudflare page is protecting ultra-right fake news sites (one of my hobbies is perusing such trash). It's anyone's guess who is behind DDOSing those dudes.

    It's a doggy-dog world [sic] .

Quit trying to be so negative about it. Other cdn's like bit mitigate do things like this as well.

    Read this.

"I'm Under Attack" will add additional protections to a site that is under attack and needs DDoS protection and mitigation. If you're under attack and have this feature enabled during the attack, visitors will receive an interstitial page for about five seconds while we analyze the traffic to make sure it is a legitimate human visitor.
Note: Visitors to the site must have JavaScript and Cookies enabled to pass the interstitial page.

To enable I'm Under Attack mode, see How do I enable I'm Under Attack mode.
Why am I getting a "Checking your Browser before accessing" message before entering a site on Cloudflare?
The "Checking your browser before accessing example.com" page occurs when the site owner has turned on this I'm Under Attack Mode setting. The page will generally go away and grant you access to the site after 5 seconds.
Note: You will need to have both JavaScript and Cookies turned on in your browser to pass the check. The check is in place to make sure that you are not part of a botnet.
