    Win 10 build 1803 and 1804 can't share a network drive?

I have a drive network shared on a win 10 PC build 1803. My other PC with build 1804 can not see the drive.

I have two other PCs build 1803 that can see it just fine. What did MS do to build 1804? I have SMB 1.0 turned on network discovery on with no luck, i have pretty much copied the settings on a PC that can see the drive and it will not show.

Also have synology NAS and ALL my PCs can see that.

Don't think there ever was a "build" 1804. We currently have Version 1709, 1803. Version 1809 was pulled from distribution shortly after release but it's working fine on 4 of my machines.

I had SMB 1.0 for awhile on earlier Versions of Win10 to access my 2 NAS drives attached to my Router but the later Versions have that unchecked by Default and I still have my drives However, I only Map the Public Folder on each for access to files stored in various subFolders on them.

My mistake they all are build 1803, only difference is one is a new install. I had wrote down 1804 on the USB install drive.

I can get it to see the drive now but it says i do not have access to it even though there is no password on it and i have all the permissions on for everyone.

Have you set permission on the share and NTFS on the folder or it wont work

Thats bad first it means any hacker or malware can get in with no problems. Second by default all drives are allready shared with a $ ie c$ if you type from a cmd prompt net share you will see c$ etc as your shares.
By trying to share it again is confusing the $ shares are admin shares which you must provide admin user and password this means it not then open to malware.

Even with admin share NTFS will kick in and you cant get to other users profiles and system files.

So if you try and map c$ give admin name and password on the pc your connecting to you should get in
