winver 1803 build 17134.285.........This started out with the System Tray Network Icon indicating "Identifying....No internet access"But I did have internet access - I only have one Ethernet adapter, no wireless.I reset netsh and rebooted........Icon now says "Internet access"When I open File Explorer I get 'This computer is not connected to a network. Click to connect..."

Clicking it turns it blue until I click somewhere else then it goes back to yellow.....Clicking a network computer opens that computer and the message goes away till I click on something else.

When I look at Network Status it says "Not connected"

I also still have internet access and the icon indicates I do.

SOLUTION????

Is it possible that you've disabled IPv6 on your PC? Numerous reports of "interesting issues" like yours have been emerging for 1809, all related to lack of access to IPv6. If this applies, please consult this TenForums tutorial: Enable or Disable IPv6 in Windows Network & Sharing. If this doesn't apply, my apologies for waving a red herring in your direction.

IPV6 is enabled on mine and I am not on 1809 yet - didn't know it was available yet. -- not so much, seems like MS pulled it cause it deletes user files. HUMMM

Drat! That would've been an easy fix. But now, I'd like to suggest an in-place repair upgrade (1803 upgraded to 1803) as what you might call "the Alexandrine solution" (hint: think of how Alex dealt with the Gordian Knot). This could be a booger to troubleshoot, so you might want to cut to the chase and rebuild the OS completely, and start with a fresh, clean networking environment instead.

I was fighting a BSOD a couple days ago dealing with IRQLs. I don't know which fix actually worked. It seemed to straighten up when I uninstalled a couple old versions of programs that had new versions installed - apparently the update did not uninstall the old version. I don't know if that had anything to do with the current issue, but I did not notice it b4.
Since 1809 is eminent - maybe it will take all month for the fix - I may just leave it this way till then. The operation is fine, it is just the bad messages.
