    I found the problem is definitely with windows 10. I rebooted into Windows 10 Home build 17134.228 (Forgot this is a dual boot system) and when I tried to connect to \\readyshare\USB_Storage, it connected without any problems. I'm guessing that it's a setting or a Windows update that is causing the problem. The Desktop when running Windows 10 Pro FCU wont connect but when running Windows 10 home Build 17134.228 it connects with no problems. The laptop is running Windows 10 Home Insider Skip Ahead Build and will not connect. I just need to find out why. Thursday I'm going to replace my main desktop that died the other day. I hope I don't have this problem setting it up. I didn't mention it but I did try with my security program (Eset Security Suite) disabled and that didn't work either,

    Glad to hear you've narrowed it down to what seems is a Win10 Pro issue. As far as any Insider builds, who knows.

    This might help if you need to compare settings between PC's...

    Note: The following script ....
    1. Makes NO changes to your PC
    2. It creates a .txt file on your Desktop (Assumes your Desktop Folder has NOT been moved)

    Open PowerShell as Admin. Copy/Paste the following, making sure to hit enter after the last line.

    $(
    write-output "CHECKING LANMAN/TCPIP/SMB FOR COMPUTER $($env:computername) @ $(get-date -format g)"
    write-output "==============="

    Windows 10 file sharing really has me confused. On my desktop If I type \\readyshare\USB_Storage in the Run box I get the can't find error. If I type \\192.168.1.1\readyshare\USB_Storage in the Run box I get the can't find error. If I type \\192.168.1.1 in the Run box File Explorer opens showing the USB_Storage folder and allows me to open all the files and folders. After a restart on my laptop Map Network Drive works again.

    I think I deleted my last post while trying to do a edit. I'm on my phone and it's different than on my computer. I solved my problem by using a April update ISO I had on a flash drive. I know some changes were made because once the computer restarted I got a message about Home Group being removed. When I entered \\readyshare\USB_Storage the address was recognized and I now have a S drive listed in File Explorer. I want to thank you for your help. I don't see the option to mark the thread as solved so I'll mark it when I get home.

    I was having a problem keeping a wireless connection to the \\readyshare on a desktop that originally had a direct connection. I deleted the HDD from the router so I could start from scratch and now I can't connect to \\readyshare with any of my computers including my laptop that never had a problem. I have check all the settings that are suggested on other post on this forum. File Sharing is set, SMB 1.0 is turned on and the 2 Funtion Sharings are set to Auto. I can access the router in file explorer. Every time I try connecting I get the error that \\readyshare can't be found. Is there another setting I can try or is the problem with my router? This has been a bad week for me. The other day my main desktop died and I'm trying to setup my old desktop which is how I found out that \\readyshare can't be accessed.
    i have figured it out i had the same problem i fixed it by folowing this How to access files on network devices using SMBv1 on Windows 10 | Windows Central
