Lose wi-fi connection when PC is still on, but not being used.

Upgraded to Win 10 from win 8.1 in 2015
Several times during this time I lost my wi-fi connection after not using the PC for a while without shutting it down.
The network repair feature does not work, it only tells me what to do like checking cable and other connections.
Most of the time I get the connection again by several restarts.
Today I did three restarts and I tried to reset the network adapter.
When I click on the icon to reset, it does not do anything but stays on reset.(and state PC will restart) Finally after waiting 5 minutes, I shut down the PC and turned back on.
This time the connection was back on.
All this happen when the other PC is still connected and working.
Furthermore, the wi-fi connected printer get also disconnected for no apparent reason.
The only way to re-establish the connection is to disconnect and reconnect the power line.
PS. I also tried to fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting the modem.
    Sorry for this long post.

    Hi,

You may try this: Right click on Start menu, go to Device Manager/Network adapters, find your WiFi adapter, then (right click on it) go to Properties-->Power Management tab and deselect "Allow the computer...."

Thank you for the quick reply. For some reason I could not find the same window with the Wi-Fi display as per your image. (I am really inept with PC stuff)
I took some screen shots, and one showed a power option. Perhaps you can tell from the snips if I need to do something else.

Your WiFi properties screenshot is from Network Connections folder and NOT from Device manager window. Also, if you click on "Configure" button (in your screenshot) you'll see what I mean...

I don't know if deselecting "Allow the computer...." eliminates the issue but you may try...

Note: Perhaps, after deselecting "Allow the computer....", you'll face PC Sleep or Shutdown issues. If so, select it again.

I was in the device manager and the only thing I could see was the network adapters after expanding that one, this list came up, which one is the Wi-Fi? when I entered wi-fi, wifi and Wi-Fi in search, it could not find it

OK, done that. I hope that will eliminate future issues with the Wi-Fi disconnect.
How about the issue with the printer, would that be part of the same problem?
It also disconnect from Wi-Fi after not being used for a while.
The way I can get that fixed is by disconnecting and re-connecting the power cable.

If that ("Allow the comp....") was the problem, your wireless printer issue will be resolved too because it's on the same adapter. Hope it works...
