HP Omen 15_ce019dx issue with Wifi Private/Public Network

    Hello There

Using Avast Free Antivirus 18.6.2349 on this PC for now til Fall Update 1809 i think, anyways sometimes when i boot up it doesn't even seem to connect to home lan right, says unidentified network, and Public with Internet Access, resetting the wifi adapter sometimes works, or forgetting and restarting and reconnecting/inputting security key again then works.

Same on Desktop with Ethernet once in a while for some reason, is it related to Avast Free? (Desktop doing clean install soon as 1809 released)

or is it a problem with my Netgear C7100V Gateway?

Have you tried a Network reset?

Start => Settings => Network & internet => Scroll to bottom of right hand side =>Network Reset

This will cause your system to “Forget” your wireless passwords and you may have to reset any VPN or customized communication software if you use.

Are you running any special comm software?

Simplest way to see if Avast is involved, uninstall from laptop. Defender will provide all you need in the way of protection.

The router does not determine firewall posture, Public or Private, although some routers can isolate connections but windows does see that isolation.

Well I can try to remove Avast if continutes, i did the network reset, and re entered the wireless key, Desktop sometime has same symptoms where it will say no internet access, but after resetting the ethernet adapter, it works again for a while. Then it stays connected for rest of time using the Computer systems.

Tried to do a virus scan on laptop this morning, full scan, got to 30 percent and just sat there, but i don't believe it's infected, all i do on that machine is some light gaming, sometimes a little heavier gaming if i'm not on the Desktop machine, watch some youtube videos, Movies & Tv videos. Laptop was clean installed about a month ago. Desktop clean installed last when 1803 came out

No Special Communication software, wireless drivers direct from HP for Laptop, nothing much else loading on startup, besides HP Support Assistant, but thats always been in

I would pull Avast, run network reset and test.

Public is a more secure posture.

Any cleaning tools Wise Cleaner, CC Cleaner etc that could be scrubbing?

No Cleaner Tools, just clean with WIndows 10 built in cleaning options, will clean out Avast, do network reset on both, and then see how handles. Gets to doing that one both systems as fast as I can this evening or after dinner shortly here
