Ethernet disrupts Internet connection for both wired and WiFi

I've been having increasingly worse internet connectivity issues for a while now. I bought a new computer and it was fixed for about 2 years, but then it started again, exactly as before. Recently it became so bad (and no advice from the internet would work) that I bought a new modem/router. Nothing changed so I had the cable company send a technician. He found an old splitter on the exterior and replaced it, but otherwise he said their lines were good. He also had me change my Ethernet cable and that fixed my internet connectivity issues completely (wired and wireless) for about 1 hour. Then it started happening again (constant dropped connections, long periods with no internet at all). In the end I've determined that as long as my ethernet cable is plugged in I have connection problems (WiFi included and on multiple devices). When it's not, I don't.

So I'm wondering if anyone can help explain why this is happening. Why would my phone, or television, or my wife's phone and laptop lose WiFi when my Ethernet cable is plugged in on my computer, but not when it's unplugged? I understand that there might be a problem with the port on my PC (according to the technician), but I don't get why that would interfere with the wireless connection on other devices.

(The technician also had me update the drivers, and disable WiFi on my PC while Ethernet cable was plugged in to make sure there wasn't a conflict there).

Connect your wife's laptop to that ethernet cable. If problem doesn't arise, it's an issue with your computer's ethernet adapter. If problem happens while on wife's laptop, it's issue with cable or router port.

I'll try my wife's computer when I get the chance.
My internet speed is 100 mbps (what I pay for), but speedtest usually registers 115-120 (for Ethernet, and just slightly less for WiFi) when everything is working.
This is from the ipconfig/all during the last "outage" while connected with Ethernet cable. I should also add that while these problems were happening I woke one morning to find my internet completely out and a message saying that "Killer Ethernet e2400 (or something like that) isn't responding." Per online advice I uninstalled that software, but kept the "Killer Wireless Drivers." That "fixed" the issue only in that instead of a completely dead internet connection it has returned to its normal state of working on and off.

Can someone please help with this? My internet has gone back to its usual problems (losing connection all the time) even with Ethernet cable not plugged in. ISP is saying they've checked everything on their side and it's not a problem with their lines. I've tried three different modems (Aris Surfboard, Netgear, and Motorola), but I'm having the same problems. Everything I try seems to work for a few hours or a few days, but it starts happening again and it keep getting worse until I try something else, then the cycle repeats. Bitdefender is showing a completely clean system and so is Spybot. The ISP tech checked my settings and said everything was good there also. It's driving me mad.

Check the adapter properties, advanced power management...don't let machine turn off to save power... see if you are running Fast Startup in the power/lid section, if On, turn off, reboot...

Post the stat's from the modem for your connection to your ISP, for power levels, CEC errors, etc. Who is your ISP?

dmholt57: I disabled "turn off to save power" but I could have sworn I had already done that before even though the boxes to do that were checked. Anyway, I also disable fast startup and rebooted as you said. Time will tell if that has worked, but for now my internet is up and stable.

bro67: My ISP is Spectrum, for the rest of what you asked I don't know what exactly that means or how to do it.

    There are a few things
Your running spybot that fills your host file with 1,000s of entries and slows everything to a crawl reset host file
Unless your using home groups disable ipv6 its not used it just adds traffic.
Your running a VPN remove it for now as they often give problems
