Windows 10 computer will not connect to windows xp computer

    Hi
I have 3 windows 10 computers,64bits,32bits home and pro versions. They all do connect to my windows xp computer and are fine to share files and allow remote desktop connections, so I know the xp computer should be all set up and ok.
Now my problem is, my new windows 10 pro 64bit will not recognise any other computer on the net work even as it is "joined" and allows file transfers, I can connect to it and transfer files from other computers, but I cannot connect, transfer, or use remote desktop connections from the new computer to connect to any other computer windows 10 or xp.
As far as I know, I set it up the same way as my other 3 windows 10 computers, any help or tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks

With an XP machine on the network, you may have needed the SMB1 client. This is deprecated and would be turned off by default on the new PC. Compare the settings of one of your working W10 PCs with the new one.

You say as it's joined what? If you have been using home group it's been removed from the latest version

I see @freeflow has marked this solved, seems SMB1 was the solution in this case.

The SMB1 client is needed only if you have legacy devices on your network that only support SMB1. I have two, my SmartTV and an HDD that's shared on the network by plugging it in to the usb port on my router.

SMB1 is deprecated because it's not very secure. It should only be enabled (and then, only the client) if you have legacy servers you have to connect to. In your case that would have been the XP machine.
