MS Asks to connect to Proxy- My Office does not use Proxy

This is a recent change- maybe because of updates? It asks me to connect with a proxy- but in my office we have no proxy connection. I can not find where to change the setting anywhere. When I try ti use FF for a intranet site, FF also asks me a loggin to proxy. 1

Now I notice the MS Store will not connect, and the MS News app will not connect either.

Any thoughts on where I need to go to change the setting?

Only way I can think that this issue has been caused is someone or something setting a proxy server in Network settings - Proxy

Click on the start button and type proxy - this should take you to the settings you need and switch off "use a proxy"

As this is a work device or location you should contact the system administrator as you may not have rights to change these settings

    Thanks Barman-
Checked the settings- and all is good- nothing suggesting that my desk top is set to use proxy-
I keep poking around to see if it is on my end- I thinking is that its on the IT end of things- which means I have to live with it until something is reset.

It's not unusual for "work" systems to use a proxy as it allows better security monitoring of internet usage by employees, and of course to control the use of certain sites, these days it's basically the major social networking sites which are seen as wasters of time and bandwidth for the company - I have set up these types of systems and also the "open" computers or Employee Wifi in the break areas that are more open.

The login to the proxy is usually fully transparent and automatic using a network login script at server level and access can vary due to employee level, It appears in your case the script requires resetting

One more weird thing- after I reboot it tells me that I have no internet connection but I do get out on a browser-
the error message- "you might need to sign up with this networks ISP to get access." Then after about 20 minutes it connects.
And after the reboot I also get the weird chrome browser automatically starts to a MSN page-, I noticed that others have the same problem, nothing seems to stop it- It just boggle my mind how these weird things suddenly appear on a otherwise fine running machine.
