Finding Credentials

I have a destop and laptop pc connected together. The laptop can see everything on the desktop, but not the other way round. It asks for Credentials.
From Googling it seems Credentials are Name of Computer (in my case Laptop) and password used to login to Windows.
Well I don't have one.
I do have a Microsoft A/c password but that doesn't work.
Is there any way to find what credentials it wants?

1. On the laptop are you using a MS account or a local account to sign in with ?
2. If using a local account did you set a password ?

Credentials are located in Control Panel >Credentials Manager > Windows Credentials
Internet or Network Locations - PCNAME
Username - your username
Password - your password

Note:
If you're using a MS account to sign in with the username / password is your MS Email / Password
If you're using a Local account to sign in with the username / password is what you setup

I'm not really sure. i just turn it on! I had some assistance to get it like this.
For a while the Laptop told me there was an Microsoft a/c problem which I fixed, although first it asked for my gmail pw but then said that was no good. So I used what I've called the laptop password (which isn't normally used for anything afaik, and I found it in an old list) and it accepted that. However neither worked as the wanted "credential'.

I found them. But the pw is just a series of asterisks.

Was an MS account and the laptop (not gmail) password.
