Can’t believe I am having so much trouble converting this router to a WAP, done it so many times before. I always disable DHCP last, I set everything up ok but when I try t Change the IP address it locks up the browser and doesn’t change the setting
my suoerhub dhcp range is 192.168.0.10 and changed number of CPE’s to 100 so I assume that means the end dhcp is now 192.168.0.100
    anybhelp please

So your superhub uses 192.168.0.10. Usually they give you a start number and an end number so start handing out address at
192.168.0.25 and end at 192.168.0.254. You should not have to change this at all unless you want to protect some address for static IP's.

Then with the Belkin router you did a factory restore, (held reset for at least 10 secs) to blank out everything from its past life.

You then connected your laptop to the belkin router using one of the four ports on back, rebooted laptop, started browser and connected to Belkin at 192.168.2.1. I would then change the SSID and apply

Then I would assigned the Belkin router an address in Lan settings.

Since your superhub uses 192.168.0 you gave it a number like 192.168.0.254. (Same subnet 192.168.0 )

Finally shut of DHCP duties and save.

You then connected your superhub using one of its four lan ports to one of the four lan ports on the back of the Belkin.

You should then be able to connect your laptop to the SSID you assigned Belkin.

Could you have a USB wireless dongle plugged in.

In safe mode I would uninstall adapter and let windows re-install.

All this because I tried to convert a router to a WAP....

removed usb Wi-fi dongle, but no change..

i have a month month old Macrium reflect image , but it says it can’t load it ( booted from a MR usb pen )
maybe the pen version is lower than the pc version.....downloading v7 and will make new MR usb pen and try again...

Can you boot to safe mode. You were able to before. In Safe mode remove all network adapters and allow it to reload them on reboot. I would keep dongle out.

What changes did you make to PC. I don't think any but something doesn't like something.

Can’t get past the whirring thing.....have created a MR usb pen, but 32 bit, hopefully it can restore an imp age created with the 64 bit MR.....!....although I suspect the most recent MR image is corrupt as it would not load it, got another for June which loads, tried windows troubleshooting from a W10 usb boot pen, but it said I didn’t have any restore points, but I created loads....

Apparently some conflict with Rtwlanu.sys May have caused the problem, pity none of the repair options worked....

    thanks
