shared folders not accessible after HomeGroup removed

I have three computers, two of them connected directly to the router, one over WiFi. All three of them run the latest version of Win 10 built 1803 (build 17134.191) . Ever since I upgraded the computers to 1803 and HomeGroup was removed, I have been having problems with networking. Computer A can see computer B and C, but B and C cannot consistently see A (shared folders, shared printer) – sometimes they do, sometimes not. Rebooting does not help.

    Please advise, thank you.

If you haven't already .... Check Windows Services for the following two services ...

Is the computer that has the file share wired or wireless?

    Hello dudley,

In addition, you might also check using the tutorial below to see if it may help.

My apologies for the delayed answer – I was traveling. Thanks for all your replies.

The issue still persists. I had experimented with Function Discovery Provider and Function Discovery Resource before posting the question here as I read about this issue with 1803. I had no success setting them to Auto Delay.

@ DMGrier – the computer that is not discoverable has a wired connection.

@ Brink – I checked the tutorial and the subsequent discussion but found no answer to my problem. Just to remind everyone – the problematic computer is sometimes accessible (but more often it is not).

    Thanks.

OK, I ran NETBScanner on all three machines. Computer A (the one that is not accessible, wired) is not the Master Browser, nor is Computer B (wired connection). Computer C, that is connected via WiFi (also our backup computer, not frequently used) is the Master Browser.

OK, how do I use this info ? :)

Sometimes just running NETBScanner can get things working again, but not always and now we know which PC is the Master Browser, which can be helpful :)

    1. When say that C is not frequently used, do you mean it's not turned on all the time ?
2 Do you have SMBv1 installed on your PC's ?
