Sky router and wi fi problems.

I recently changed my graphics from an AD Radeon to an Nvidea Geoforce graphics card and I have since not been able to connect my pc to the Internet.
I run my sky router by lead direct from my pc but it doesn't want to connect. It is most frustrating, as the wifi is working fine for everything else. The only light not working on the router is the Sky+ light.
When I try and diagnose the wifi connection, all it will tell me is that the ethernet does not have a valid ip address.
I am really confused about this. Can anyone help please?

    Hi philkemp.

When you switched your graphics card did you reload your BIOS to defaults. Always a good idea when you make a significant change to hardware. If you made any changes to defaults then they will have to re-applied. Know your BIOS before executing.

I would then recommend you also use DDU to completely remove all the old graphics drivers and software. You may have to re-install nvidia.

As to your wireless, please power cycle your router. Then ensure you do not have a cable connected and try again.

It maybe necessary to reset some of your network components if this still doesn't work.

Run the following four bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)

I didn't reload the cards bios to defaults so it could easily do this. I confess to ignorance on this. I will try a few things suggested here and comment further. Thanks so far.

Please just run the command again like so

    ipconfig /all | clip

then come to post and paste. The | clip sends output to clip board.

Did you perform the steps I outlined.

You are not getting an IP so either the network cable is faulty, port on the router or network card. Can you try another cable and port on the router. Does the router light up when cable is in. Are other PC's working ok on cable?

If we look at description it says nVidia, not Intel, Realtec, Broadcomm

Find your adapter in device manager under network heading and uninstall.

Did you load run ddu and completely install.
